Inner robes - shiny?

Hello, I have a most basic question. I am sure the ROTJ CRL once said that the inner robes (and lining of the outer robe) should not be shiny. However, it doesn't say that now, or I am imagining it.
Every pic I see of a 501st RG, the inner robe is not shiny at all. But I'd like to check.
thank you

The inner robes should be as matte as possible. Now lighting will almost always make things like our robes look shiny. Can't have crushed velvet which is always shiny and that stuff is not allowed.

Shiny is not acceptable for 501st admission for any of the fabrics in our costume.

Do the inner robes have to be made of velvet? I've seen the CRL for ROTJ states velvet, but I've seen some pics where people have used other fabrics.
Can anyone help me on this before I begin to sew?
Thanks!

The inner robe does not need to be velvet. We are in the process of re-writing the sections about fabric. A broadcloth or gaberdine is an acceptable alternative for the lining and inner robe (not to mention it tends to breath a bit better

)

Gaberdine would be the optimum fabric for this. As some of us tend to troop outside. No one wants to over heat from fabric not breathing.

.
My linens have held up well to the abuse of multiple troops.
