Questions About Helmets

From what I've read in the forums, it seems the Rubies helmets are acceptable. I've also read that it may need painting and the visor need replacing. Does it need painting only if your outer cloak does not match the color of the helmet? And is it easy to replace the visor without damaging the helmet?
I'm also looking at one on ebay that someone from the UK makes. I believe someone already posted that their previous helmet had been through them. I wonder if this would be acceptable as well and a better alternative to the Rubies. I will pm the link if anyone needs to see the listing I'm referring to.

From what I understand, the visor needs to be darkened to meet 501st Standards. Which can be done by buying some transparent film or screening, or removing and replacing the visor completely.
The helmet itself is 501st approved with the current paint I believe, but some members where saying that the finish is not very good, so the owner may consider repainting.
I'm still waiting to hear about the helmet itself though, the sculpt, what type of materials its made out of, and if its just overall "cheap" in general.
Hope that helps, and if I'm wrong that someone will correct me.

Those are fine. You will need to go with the brighter Velvet Red to match the helmet.

I always maintain that you will need to check with your fabric to ensure the helmet is a close match (not as easy as it sounds) so re-painting is always a possibility.

There's a resin sculpt on ebay by a battle star galactica-themed screen name for what I think could be a decent price. Anyone know if this guy's stuff is any good?
And me being a total noob, will I be able to cut out the visor area, install a visor and paint without risking damage to my investment?

I got two of these ... Some touch up will need to happen but that is with any kit.
