hmmm sorry but it's smooth , I didn't see any "strip down the middle" :

this is the bad quality of the CGI in the game , not a strip ... :|

From the various references of the costume it almost looks like there are three different styles to the shoulder. Almost TK like, smooth, and other looking kinda like a hex pattern of sorts.

This reference of the Unleashed Guard from TFU game. This Game model was pulled from the game and ran through sketch up to zoom on the details. Upon zooming on the details a raised section on the shoulder was found.

This shoulders look differently at different angles. Here a photo of one of the scenes. They look differently at different moments in reference materials from the game. It could be only a light reflex or not to much polygons in model. And what about the shoulders shadow guard? Models in the game are identical in my opinion.

You can see the raised section in the last pic. Also pulling the game model ypu don't have the extra factors like lighting. The unleadhed guards ate all the same game models only different skins.

Believe those are pics from the cutscenes which are prerendered and often are different models not used in the actual gameplay.

Actually, this was discussed amongst the command staff and the final decision was to include the shoulder ridge as referenced by LT. This will be the only acceptable version of the shoulder bells going forward and the CRL's are in the process of being updated to include this.

Finaly the pictures, and it seems it's as I thought. Did a bit of 3D in my time : when u are a game modeler and you have to create a new bell from taking parts from other costumes, the easiest way is to take the actual 3D model and alter it, not model it again from the begining, he just took the storm bell and flattened the ridge. those lines are the remaining, due to lack of polys the shader cannot hide it completely.

BTW I don't care as mine's done, but I think it's ugly and not accurate.
