$325. A steal, from the best bodyshop in the Greater Bay Area!

Not a bad price at all. Did they do a base coat/clear coat, or a single stage?

It was three layers of filler-primer a lot of sanding, and one layer of Turin Red. I don't know if they did a clearcoat, but I think not.

If it was one layer of red, than it would be a single stage. So the base coat and clear coat are mixed. I've heard other painters say they prefer it because it makes the color shine rather than a shine from a clear coat. I've had good results with both. Glad you went with this paint job rather than spray paint. Should hold up well after numerous troops!

Hello Tim,
I am writing on behalf of the Golden Gate Garrison of the 501st Legion to officially thank you for your additional costume submission.
I have thoroughly reviewed your photos and am pleased to APPROVE your Royal Gaurd - (TR) costume!
APPROVED!
Replacement visor, red vinyl. As you can see, it was way too transparent, but yet difficult to see out of at the same time.
Interior of rig sports crayola air-dry clay with rare earth magnets, and some foam to pad.
Transport bin is a 50-gal Husky rolling toolbox. That is one big-ass bucket!
Luckily, the replacement lacross visor insert arrived in time for the photo shoot. Submittal photos were reviewed and approved. My first troop is saturday morning, with two more following in short succession. This is a busy weekend!

Thanks!
Three troops down, and I've already managed to damage my outer robe. Apparently my FP bucket has burrs that rubbed grooves in the velvet.
Also, when it comes to fasteners, velcro wins every time, hands-down.

The grooves are almost unavoidable. I haven't been able to come up with a fix yet.

The fix is velveteen instead of velvet.... I've hardly got any groove marks after over 40 events with my second cloak...
