This particular worm screw's center hole fits the ski pole perfectly. I simply slide it on and then the 1/2" brass tube can be forced on by hand to hold it in place. I did put a little E-6000 glue on the rasp to aid in keeping it in place.

Did a little sanding and painting today. Slid the rasp and brass tube on the ski pole and marked where I wanted to cut the end off.

Once the end was cut off and cleaned up I put a little E-6000 inside the rasp and brass tube and placed them back on the ski pole. I then taped off the ski pole to paint the rasp and brass tube gold.

Painted rasp and end. The tip remains silver.

I also painted the faucet handle and other parts flat black and silver. You can also see the ruby crystal that will go on the bottom of the faucet handle. It will give it a girlie touch for my wife.

Have a troop this weekend so no more work until Monday.

Thanks. I'm probably still going to add the plastic tip over the aluminum end as with the first pike. It just does not look right as is and it will soften the point a little. Don't want to poke someone with it. More on Monday.

Got back from trooping the Mobile (AL) Symphony's John Williams concert. Had a big time. My son is the Jawa and I am Vader.

Completed the second pike tonight. For the handles I didn't want to use the connectors as ends again, looks too much like a water hose. Decided to just not put an end on the tubing. Placed the O rings on and applied heat shrink tubing and that was it. Put the end piece together and glued into handle. Put a silver painted plastic tip over the bare end of pike. May consider cutting one of the pikes in half and installing a bolt and nut so it can be broken down for easy transport.

Wow awesome thanks for the sharing of the pics and such too. Just starting on pikes here as wanted to give it a go, though will likely still buy two that come apart and all but had the ski poles laying around and figured what the hell. This is going to help a lot!! :P
