It is small to see (1.2 inches). It's accurate, though, which is what I aim for.

Unless anyone wants to play with the "few centimeters" quote and interpret it is as a rough estimate and make it larger.

I'm only interpreting the novel quote in the strictest and most literal sense. Loor said a "few centimeters" so I'm going with that.

So long as it's only a "few centimeters" and is on the bottom of the robe I don't think there should be any problem.

In all honesty, 2" ribbon is going to be easier to sew and maintain in the long run in all honesty. I would run with that as it gives a definitive black edge at the very bottom of the robes.

[quoHem"nassik"]Fair enough. :) The comment was primarily aimed at our American friends.

The point, though, is that the ribbon is only thr centimeters wide. Kirtan Loor described the guards as appearing to float a few centimeters off the ground. That gives us a pretty exact ribbon measurement.[/quote]

I disagree. "A Few" Is entirely subjective, hence the request for an official CRL Ruling. A Couple Means 2. A Few Means Three Or More cM. if 3Cm Is TheOfficialWord, Than IWillChangeItYetAgain. WhatIsCurrentlyOnTheHemIsA4" Black Satin Band. Larger Widths AreMuchEasierToAttach ThanSmallerOnes.

This would also give more the aspect of "Floating above the ground"

Admittedly, I and a couple of squad mates are having the ribbon sewn on to our cloaks. Taking the description literally, we're using 30mm wide ribbon.

Please adjust your ribbon to 2" as this is what will be written into the CRL's as we do the updates.

Please also note that this ribbon of mourning is only appropriate for the ROTJ style cloak and for CE/CE2 guards on their cloaks should they choose (though this may require additional modifications to the robes for these costume types)

Thank you. That was what I was looking for. :trsuit:

I got to the seamstress before the ribbon went on. It turns out that we'll have a visiting Emperor soon so it makes more sense to leave the ribbon off for now. He's not dead yet. :)

I can see this devolving into a Monty Python quote-fest...
