IVLIANVS wrote:Maybe just lighting in the pic, but that MC lens looks a bit like a mirror. ROTJ visor is not supposed to be mirrored, according to the latest CRL. I believe the old one allowed it, but the new one specifically says no mirrored visor. It's unfortunate, because it seems like mirror tinting was the go-to way of keeping yourself hidden without having to darken your own view too much.

You might try just adding some red tint onto that original lens, and see how that works out. That combined with the light smoke that it already has would likely be enough to prevent your face from showing through.

For the fabric, the velveteen doesn't look very dark in the first two pictures. Maybe you could photograph them next to your outer crimson for contrast?
Yeah it's mirrored :| I will use it for my Utapau Shadow Clone Trooper as originally intended.

So need to look at other options !

Been a while but here's an update

As much as I liked the feel and benefits of burgundy cotton velvet, it was just too purple almost like plum.

Burgundy velveteen just looked too stiff and to be honest kind of cheap looking.

So I decide on triple velvet burgundy !

After looking and looking ... and looking (lol) I pulled the trigger and ordered a pair of XL burgundy gloves from Lindy Bop.

I received it pretty quick and opened it up to see ... large :|
Image

Quick story on this ...

I tried them on and they were too small

So I contacted Lindy Bop told them I ordered XL and was shipped a large. Customer service replied, and told me to keep the pair I had and they would ship me the correct one. I received the replacement opened it up and ... it's the same dang size !
After going back and forth found out, and I quote from their email ...
"Hi Dennis,
I have just conferred with the warehouse, as you have used the US website the sizes are a little different, the sizes are converted from our UK website.
The glove that is labelled as a L which you have received, is the correct product for your order.
I do apologise for any inconvenience or trouble this may have caused you. "

Well what a bummer :(

But after gripping and stretching my hands with one pair on, I was able to get a decent fit.

Now, the most important question, do these look approvable ?

As long as the inner robe matches as far as colour they should be fine. Length on the forearm is good too. Sorry about the sizing issues, differences like that have such a big impact sometimes.

Thanks, yeah it is something you never think about.

I more than likely will be getting a bigger pair down the road as the circumference is fine just the length is a little too "stubby".

Saying that, I do have a pair that is brand new that can go to a good home if anyone is interested !

No charge, just cover shipping !

Here are measurements of the glove ...

Started working on the cooling units.

Purchased two mini hand held coolers and began fabricating them to fit on a back brace.
