I bought it on Ebay, for ~$18 US, with shipping.

I received my red mirrored Lacross visor shield from Ebay today. The material is way too thin and therefore is transparent. I need to find a way to make it a) thicker and b) more opaque.

I used window tinting from the auto shop. It allows 20% of the light in (which was the least dark they had because they also had 5% and 10%) and it's more than enough to stop people being able to look in (even with flashes).

The black ribbon is definitely not in the right place... it should be at the very bottom of the robe to match the literary reference and should probably be 2"-3" wide.

The description says "a few centimeters off the ground." That's 30 millimeters (3 centimeters [1 1/5 inches]) wide for the ribbon. And it should be at the very bottom of the cloak, right at the hem.

Watch out for the metric system. A few centimeters is not the same thing as a few inches. (1 inch = 2.5 centimeters)

Fair enough. :) The comment was primarily aimed at our American friends.

The point, though, is that the ribbon is only three centimeters wide. Kirtan Loor described the guards as appearing to float a few centimeters off the ground. That gives us a pretty exact ribbon measurement.

I feel the 3 centimeters (1 Inch) is too short to really see. No more than 6 centimeters (2.5 Inch)
