I just wish I could offer up a decent tutorial for the pike. But the most crucial parts aren't available any more. Target discontinued that floor lamp back in '03, and I haven't found anyone who makes one similar. Still looking. And Fluidmaster no longer makes that sink knob. I can always cast that or something, though... I'm looking into nearby manufacturing facilities.

Yeah I hear ya. this is the only one I've seen that seems to be decent for a force pike build. Aside form the sink knob. It supprises me with all the people casting SW stuff that you could'nt find one some where.

That's a very well-made pike, yes. It's too bad it's not accurate to the film prop. *heh* I used a lot of showerhead pieces and the two main grip sections were made from the "flick-out" style of toy lightsabers.

And Craig, I have some photos of my progress on the gloves, but they are all currently in-camera or in my stack of stuff to be scanned. What was that about the bucket?

More progress after I get back home around the 20th-ish. :)

Okay, so. 501st drama following Dragon*Con '08. Took an extended Walkabout from 501st anything for a bit to cool down. Been focussing on my custom Mando (yay Mercs). Ian McDiarmid was announced as attending Celebration VI, so my Guard got hauled back up off the back burner. My final gloves are still in-progress, but the stand-in worked well enough. The v0.5 inner robe and sash that were never intended to be worn again held up, but are due for retirement as soon as I get home and finish my proper v1.0 versions, complete with chest armor and shoulder bells. Until then...

As I stepped up next to him, he looked at me, took in the costume, and said "Ah, you're dressed properly."

I have mine as well with the Emperor. I stepped up to him and he looked over and said "wow" made my day. Then a guy behind me in line asked me to stand in with him in his picture. :trsuit:
