Royal Guard armor ?
With regards to the armor that would theoretically be underneath the robes for the Royal Guard, Would it basically be a red version of the Shadow Guard? I know there's not really any reference and not canon, but it would be cool to have armor under the outer instead of another robe. Has anyone tried something like this?

From this point your crossing to themes and deferring from the aspects of the costume. One should stick with one theme of the costume and go from there.

Agreed. There is a point where some guards feel they need to look bigger and wear shoulder pads/armor to help with creating this illusion. Going to having full our armor under the robes however is mixing multiple CRL's together and should be avoided.LuciousTalvloinne wrote:From this point your crossing to themes and deferring from the aspects of the costume. Re: Royal Guard armor ?
I'm sorry, let me clarify better. I don't intend to wear armor under the under robes but I guess I am asking if there is a version of the Royal guard that is in armor like the Shadow guard, only red, and would that armor be the same as the Shadow guard or is it something different? And definitely NOT Kir Kanos or Carnor Jax, I still want it to be a guard.
I've already built my ROTJ version and I'm just waiting for the final paperwork to go through. My wheels are turning for future projects and want to stick with variations of the Royal Guard.

Re: Royal Guard armor ?
You were perfectly clear in your question, the answer is still no. This would be a blending of different CRL's. Just so that it is clear for everyone, here is what is acceptable for armor combinations according to the CRL's:cjfrancese79 wrote:I'm sorry, let me clarify better. ROTJ, ROTS and AoTC guards DO NOT have armor (with the exception of those who choose to wear shoulder padding to add bulk/size).
The TFU guard does have a red, blue and black variation, with armor, but it does not include the same outer cloak as the others. The cloak for the TFU guard is optional as most of the game references show the guards without the cloak.
The CE guards (Jax and Kanos) have a whole different makeup all together with a specific cloak and armor that are both mandatory for the costume.

Re: Royal Guard armor ?
Thank You for the breakdown. If I went with a TFU version would i just use the same armor concept for the Shadow Guard only painted red?

Re: Royal Guard armor ?
Yes. It has to all be based on the game screen captures for the red TFU guards.
Re: Royal Guard armor ?
Hi @cjfrancese79, I'm also working on a TFU Red guard version. All three colors have instead of a cloak have a kama. Well that is the name of the part and what I've been told it's called. The kama is tuxedo tail like. It's length goes from your waist down to the knees on each side and needs to be secured at the knees on the flightsuit with velcro, I believe. The width is about equal to your waist measurement. Make sure that you don't completely wrap it around your waist as it is open at the front of the legs. Also you need to have an officer's style belt that the kama tucks under. I think that is the correct info on this, anything you guys want to add or correct please do.
I've got someone in the Sovereign Protectors, Ang TR 6624, helping me with making mine. So the measurements that she needed were waist to knee length and my waist measurement, from which I subtracted a few inches so that I could get the open front appearance as seen in the Force Unleashed game. Hope this helps.
