Actually, the rubies comes with a smoke tinted lense to start with, it just isn't very dark.... I'd recommend replacing it with the red mirror visor that is becoming more popular amongst the guards to be honest...

Where does one procure these red mirror visors from?

Hopefully ordering the Rubie's this week, I'll update once it's in. :)

That would also be my suggestion. You can easily and cheaply put anything darker (e.g. dark tranparent sheet, fine mesh, etc) behind the current visor and it would help obscure the wearer's features. You can try to remove and replace the visor, but you might run into issues trying to get it out.

The red mirror is not very canon, so you might want to check with your GML before permanently installing one.

Why it might not be canon, As the Red visor is Canon alot of troops don't care for the Public seeing their eyes. So The mirrored Visor has been adopted as a neutral medium between Red visor and Screen accurate.

Actually, I just taped my dark red lighting gel behind the stock visor (since I was a little short on time and workspace at Celebration), and you can't see my eyes at all. Since the visor is screwed in, I'm going to pop it out and lay the gel on the outside of it, then screw it back in, so my visor has the right red color to it. I also didn't have any trouble seeing out through that combination.

That's with flash in the hotel room.

Ordered the Rubies helmet from the amazon link in the first post and it came yesterday.
Only a week and a half. Brillant seeing as I am in Australia. :trsuit:

I must say I am impressed with this helmet. The visor does need replacing, but I'm amazed how roomy it is compared to my fibreglass job that I've had for a few years.
A lot lighter too.

Does it smell bad? I got the Rubies Bikerscout bucket before I realized how much work it would take to get it approved. Even if I had kept it, that vinyl smell would've been a deal breaker by itself.

There's no smell in mine.

That might change next year at dreamworld, when it will stink of sweat. :trsuit:
