pepakura quality?

Post by anton-042 »

to anyone, how well does pep work turn out. im looking at getting started on pep since most of the peices are pretty basic. right now, the only thing stopping me is not having colored ink since i cant seem to convert colors on the design to just plain black. but thats beside the point. after resin/fiberglass with fiber matting and bondoing. typicaly, how well does the finished product look if i took time to do it. is it a a worthwhile endevore or should i just put the idea to rest before i begin? has anyone ever accomplishe this feat? if so, can i see any ref. pics to see what im gettin myself into? i really want to have my suit done before pax prime so i can go with all my "soon to be 501st friends. " anything helps guys
many thnx -anton-

This is the pep template that has been glassed. Pepakura is best done in just black as it will be glassed and painted over. No sense in wasting valued ink :)

Is that a helmet you've done LT? I've considered doing one and shrinking it down for a kid's size helmet but I *KNOW* I don't have the willpower to finish the project once, much less 3 times (I've got 3 boys).

Not one that I have personally done. But one that a person has done.

thnx, i know that it wont have an oblong shape to it now. im just doing the basic armor parts so most of it should be long flat peices so peicing it together will be easy. now i just gotta get the lines on the paper to come through
