Robe & Helmet question

Post by Arnianor »

Hi !

I wanted to know if anyone has already done his guard using a Fenixprop Robe (they can be found there :
http://stores.ebay.com/Fenixprops/Royal ... 34.c0.m322)
Are those robe in the correct color scheme and accepted within the 501st ?
I was planning on asking him to do one for me as he did a real nice job on my Vader but I first wanted to ask here what you people think about this.

About the helmet : I've never been able to try one, but I've heard that those are quite small, and as I've got a quite big head (62-63cm) I was wondering if there was bigger one on the market that would fit my head. It hasn't to be a painted one, that I can deal with some local to get it car painted with a red fitting my robe.

Thanks !

Yes their robes will work and have the "canon color" scheme. He has also converted the two slits for four slits. Very good at communicating with the emails. Also their helmets are larger than the Don Post helmets and Will fit a larger head with no problem.

Lucious beat me to it. The robes for ROTJ are awesome. Very thick material and the colors are great. My only issue with the ROTJ version is the lack of drapeyness but I think that is more my broad chest and larger than wanted gut. When I hang it on a dress form it does the drapey thing.

Their helmets are also the largest ones around (that I know of). I've got a monster head and I have plenty of space for 2 fans around my cheaks without a problem.

Sure...let me show you two examples, both approved costumes.
TR 3476, Darth Steff-Han has a great example of the way the robes flow and drape:

His were made by someone he knows in France.

Mine for example are from Fenixprops...but look how the front is flat in comparison, I'm on Darth Vader's left side, so the right side of the picture:

Well ok, now I get what you mean.
In France you said, hu ? Well I'm swiss, so it isn't this far... Maybe I shall contact him. Or ask Lucas about this case. The trick seams to come from the collar which seems quite big on Steff-Han.
And in addition, he speaks french... all good for me.

Yeah when I started off I PM'd Steff-Han and he was really helpful.

The main problem I have with the Fenix Prop robe is that it is made out of some polyester fabric that looks shiny and too flat. I had actually hoped it would have a more satin feel to it. The inne robe of theirs is quite nice thoughg

Really? I guess it's a personal opinion because when I took mine out of the box it was exactly what I expected and wanted.
