Looking great! Be careful with clearcoat. I've yet to see a good clearcoat which didn't make the silver look dull. I used that Future floor wax and it really helped keep the "metal" shining AND after a long troop it didn't come off. That's a win-win in my book.

As for the rasp. The spikey tips are for RotJ ONLY. The spiral thingies are for Eps 2 and 3 ONLY. For approval this is necessay. No mixing and matching.

Thanks for info on the pike tip. So which tip do I use if I'm going the FU version? I take it it's the Ep 3 style since FU occurs after Episode 3. Think I will probably use the Future Wax since I want to keep the shiny metallic look.

There is nothing more disheartening that having an awesome looking metal pike ruined by a dull clouding coat of clearcoat. Trust me...it sucks! The future wax will dull it down, but only a tiny bit...and only when you compare it to a non-waxed part. And people won't notice unless you try and point it out. And even then...they'll think you're crazy for noticing (like my wife for example).

A fair alternative is rub 'n buff silver. It doesn't give it a chromed look, but it does a fair job of giving it a brushed metal look.

Never used Rub n Buff but I know people who have. I went with the Future wax method because I knew the wax wouldn't rub off. I'm not looking forward to trying to get my robes dry-cleaned in a small town anyways :)
