Force pike question

Post by Mika Viljanen »

I have just started my journey to become a ROTS Royal Guard. Found a nice-looking pike on Thingiverse, so my plan is to 3D print it. But how far I should go as far as finish goes? Will rattlecan metallic paint be acceptable?

Hey!

That will depend on your GML, but it's a pretty common method as long as you can get it to look good. I know some people use ski poles as the main shaft for the pike, and then just have to worry about the grip and tip.

I made my pike out of a short pool cue and plumbing parts! Silver rattle can should be fine, just make sure the tip matches the CRL :)

My original one (RotJ) was a modified version of the plastic toy I got off Amazon. The pommel and shaft were decent, but I made a new topper (3D model and printed) and designed it to come apart for traveling. I painted the main shaft with a chrome rattle can (ended up doing a few coats for better coverage).

I am also thinking about 3-D printing mine as well.
I've seen a few on thingyverse but did you find a specific one that worked best?
How did it turn out?

Can I see a picture of it?

Thanks

Beautiful thank you!

I should say tho that the pike wasn't the first thing that caught my eye lol....It was the Freddie glove hahaha

My best friend and I got to meet Robert Englund a couple years ago and got out pic taken with him wearing the glove.
