So on the rocks about this because I see the new approved folks on facebook every once and a while and their helm appear to be stock or made to retain the RG style helm bottom edge. Here I'm getting ready to cut the helm and thinking maybe I should pass on it...but it would be more accurate to the source material to trim the edge. hmm, quite a decision.

Helm front & rear proposed cutting lines at white tape. Good to cut or should I adjust?
I was also getting ready to cut these out based on the tape line.

Shoulder Bells front and side proposed cutting lines at black tape edge closest to center ridge. I did a dumb thing and used electrical tape and by the time I got the confidence to make the cut, the line shifted because the tape contracted.

Found a nice youtube on how to properly trim this...but only well after I destroyed it trying to heat and widen it. Back to square one.
