Merry Christmas.
You can use any blade you want.
Saberforge and saberproject supply blades.

For the electronics in my saberpike I went to thecustomsabershop dot com
they even have light and heavy grade blades. It all depends on what you're after.

A few months ago I joined a sabersmiths group on facebook that is primarily
frequented by vaders vault folks. While I can't justify paying for a lightsaber
made by VV I've learned a great deal and was able to use their guidance to
assemble my very own pike.

Facebook group
The Vault: A Custom Lightsaber Community

For your first build I would highly recommend a Nano Biscotte.
It is very responsive and rather easy to hook up. Just pay close attention
to the documentation available for download.

If you're wanting a flash on clash feature instead of a solid saber.
A red red white tri cree LED is what I used and it is very bright.
Do not look at it without a blade installed. They can damage your
eyes. You've been warned.

My first pike is based around a 1" PVC pipe with 3d printed handles.

Depending on the inside diameter of the saber handle feel free to
look at anything on shapeways by Goth3D those chassis are all
super fantastic. In the next couple weeks I'm planning on my
second saber pike and will be installing a crystal chamber with
RGB lighting and a goth3d slide out chassis.

Also planning on getting one of the saber smiths on the saber
community to etch a sleeve to hold my electronics. Trying to come
up with a design to represent what might be possible in a mass
produced imperial saber. The Cog is a must but some scripting
is needed and finding a statement which represents the special
nature of the shadow guard is proving to be a challenge.

I've been looking into some special forces mottos and sayings for
inspiration and nothing has really yelled that's the core of a
shadow guard.

All of this was provided to help you if you decide to make your own.
It's a very rewarding project and it's not very difficult aside from the
routing of wiring within the pike.

Having someone do it for you can become very expensive. Most
sabersmiths will charge on average $200 USD and up depending
on the options you're wanting installed. And that is if you are
providing the pike.

The sound boards I prefer are anything from Niagon or plecter labs.
They start at around $75 and go to over $150 or so. I wouldn't
recommend getting the top of the line cards for your first build though
because the solder pads are very small and difficult and you don't want
to ruin a $150 board. The biscotte is awesome and has great swing
sensitivity as well as a lot of really nice features (Flash On Clash). I love mine.
I'm on my fourth build now and still learning a great deal every day.

Now as to directly answer your question... (in my opinion)
The best saber is the one you build yourself. It is yours. You did it the way
you wanted and it works. If you're wanting the best one made on the market...
No one mass produces them like they do the various Skywalker or vader sabers.
Pikes are a specialty build.

Hope this info is of use to you and others.
