Possible Boot Website??

Post by Befallen »

Not sure if any of these boots on the page below would make the cut for a TR outfit, But I still thought it was a nice find.

Let me know if they do make the cut tho so I can place an order. =)

East German Jack Boots are acceptable for Royal Guards.

AOTC guards have these.

All other guards have Red Boots

The smooth parade boots are technically te more accurate boot. These appear to be the same boots I have.

CHCMBT2.Smooth leather jackboots with rubber sole. Available in
size 26.5 at the present time. Larger sizes coming. $69.95

The pebbled-texture jack boots are essentially the same boot, but with a pebbled texture.

B1.EM jackboots.Black pebbled leather with rubber sole.Available in sizes
26.5 (US 7.5), 27.5 (8.5 US),28 (9 US) .Unissued.$29.95
Size 28.5 (9.5 US) . $34.95

Lucious.....what is the stance on pebbled texture boots? Parade boots are much harder to find, and (on this site, anyway) more expensive. The only difference between a jack boot and a parade jackboot is the texture. However, the Costume Standards call for a "texture-less" boot. Now would be a good time to define if pebbled-texture is acceptable, to avoid future confusion.

Personally, I think pebbled would be ok, as the difference in appearance is minor, considering very little of the boot is actually ever visible beneth the robes.

Opnions?

BTW, good website find Befallen. :)

I tend to agree with Skell on this one, the boots are practically non-existent once the robe is on and provided the variation is slight to none I would think it could be acceptable.

Smooth boots would be the preferred boot for the guard. Skel's Guard is pretty much the TEXTBOOK guard I go for on the AOTC guard.

I agree smooth should be the "Preferred" boot. But, to clarify, is a pebbled jack boot acceptable?

We have at least one guard trying to track down boots now and this will make a big difference in what they have to buy. :tr2:

Smooth would be the way to go. But the preferred boot for Guards except for AOTC is red suede.

Okay, so I hired some Bounty Hunters to track down Lucious. We backed him in to a corner and slapped him around a little until he gave us a straight answer. :jango:

Umm...well....actually, I commed our exhalted Executive Officer and repectfully requested a more clearly defined decision regarding pebbled boots.

The verdict is: Pebbled jackboots ARE acceptable. Smooth parade jack boots are better, and would be preferred, as smooth boots most closely resemble what was used in AOTC. But, pebbled jack boots will be accepted.

And, this should go without saying, but black boots are ONLY worn with AOTC Red Guards. ROTS and ROTJ Royal Guards both wear red suede boots.

A cheaper alternative.

Well, if you colour the sole, and get rid of the seams ...
