helmet pattern or mould

Post by Lars Makar »

Hi all
First let me say its a pleasure to be here.
Myself and a friend are interested in making TR costumes, but are a bit
financially embarrassed.
Does anyone have a pattern or measured mould to create a guard helmet??
Buying a prepared one is cost prohibitve at the present.
Or has anyone successfully fiberglassed their own?
Thanks for any input

There are no known templates, all I can say is Ebay at present. The XO might correct me. . .

Actually one of the Custom Mandos did one of those Paper templates for a helmet. I can't remember which one it was but you may have an idea who did that.

I have had my RG and in the 501st for over 10 years now and have never seen a template of the helmet....not that there is not one out there somewhere. :tr:

Keep your eyes open on ebay for a Don Post or a similar helmet that's banged up and need some love. You'd probably spend at least the same amount (probably more) trying to make your own, it's not very cost effective for only two helmets.

Very true, I could not agree more. I would also watch the main Legion boards closely.

http://www.thedentedhelmet.org <---- There's a guy who used Papurika (sp?) to make his, it's pretty much done, but I don't think he's planning on doing any runs. . .

The guy you are looking for is Skupilkinson. He's pretty much a pepakura master.
