Thanks for the feedback. I looked for heavier and can't find any. I will work on it this weekend and see what we can do.

Is there a specific fabric or type of fabric for the belt detail? For some reason I had in my head that it should be the same fabric as the belt. But now that I have some time to finish it off, I am thinking something shiny. Should I use a strip of the velvet?

It is made of the same material as the rest of the belt... NOT shiny.

The under robe can be Purple or Burgundy Gaberdine fabric.
