I started pricing out materials for this and noticed another possible option, PVC. Some of the pro's are they have more options for sizing that are a little better, it should (i think) be easier to shape and bond than the nylon, and the upfront costs aren't nearly as high. It may not be as durable as the nylon but it's still a solid material and shouldn't have any problem holding up to some light dueling.

I have been working on a saber pike too and it is coming along fine. I will post pics when I am done....

I am looking into having it with and without an saber.
