Now is that a kit from walts or RWA, and if its from walts could I not just ask them to modify it to be more correct? I mean I'm sure that's some time in the 3d editing space or something but they are dedicated to accuracy and its only 3 planes, so I'd hope fixing something like that wouldn't be too much to ask.

(Also love the color job you did, very nice so far.)

My Shadow Guard is a WTF kit. The shins and forearms do not match the CRL exactly. They are... stylized. How much of a difference that will make to your GML, YMMV.

I will tell you this. The helmet is nice; 2 piece plastic. Very light weight. The ab plate has a lip or shelf if you will for your belt to rest on. That helps keep your belt and ab plate looking right very easy.

I plan on getting new shins and forarms when I push for level 3 cert. I'm going to get the tops of my boots trimmed off when I do (stretch panel, bye bye).

Here's a link to the pics I used for my submission. https://imgur.com/a/lkkNQVI

When it comes to the boots, what all those mean is basically nothing on the boot. No strap belts (they are on the back of these boots https://www.tradesy.com/i/merona-black- ... /25790504/), no stretchy bits (you can see the stretchy bit on this shoe https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/600667669029144786/), NO ZIPS, look closely at the boots and read the description of the product to see if they have zips, hidden or otherwise you can not have ANY ZIPS for cert 3. When it comes to decoration on boots this is usually fancy stitching or patterns, so you need to avoid boots with company logos or other stitching that is there just for show, but English Riding Boots usually don't have things like these anyway. A conservative heel means a heel most likely under 1.5 inches high, closer to 1 inch. So no boots like this (https://www.shiekh.com/fashion/shiekh-w ... black.html) ;) , something with a heel closer to the ground (https://www.blundstone.com/shop/black-l ... style-1901). Essentially, you are looking for a tube of leather with a shoe on the bottom that you can fit your leg in. This page on Etsy has a few that I would say pass cert 3 https://www.etsy.com/au/market/english_riding_boots , Ebay has a few too https://www.ebay.com.au/b/Leather-Tall- ... n_60631889 . Otherwise you'll have to modify a pair, taking off the strap if it has one, etc. You could check out some domestic costuming shops, online and offline to see if they have leather boots. Once again, don't stress too much, the only thing that is making your search difficult is the fact that you cant have zippers, as most boots do because they are made by sane people.

As for the gloves from leathermystics, I would say they pass cert 3. The cert 3 requirement that they have a flair out towards the forearm is incredibly common in cosplay or swordfighting gloves. In fact, it seems all of leather mystics gloves seem to have this flair.

As for the imgur link, it's to give to someone who can sew your robes to give them an idea of what you need, but I'd do a better drawing before showing them I just did that on Paint
And that forum link took you to the Attack Of The Clones Royal Guard forum, just for convenience, should you delve into that forum to find the base robe pattern for your robe, and just more information in general. After you find the robe pattern, then you'll have to change it slightly to make it a shadowguard robe. This is the holy grail of the AOTC royal guard https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/sta ... 1101141053 . You will have to line your robe with a material similar to your undersuit. To make it shadowguard, I think you just have to have the back robe split from the bottom down the middle until a few inches below your neck. Once again, don't stress, just do some googling or ask some questions to a seamstress or someone you know who can sew to gain some knowledge on the subject. Velvet or velveteen for the robe, although if you're going for shiny armour silk velvet will probably suit you, very fancy-looking.

Some photos of the AOTC royal guard robe that yours will be based off of (just click on Photobucket photos to clear them):

That red kit over page is mine. It's a WTF.

Had never really picked up on the different taper top and bottom. The WTF shins should taper at the bottom, same as at the top.

Anyway, should be fine for approval, depending on your GML. But really, it's a knife cut to the correct angle if you want to.

Have a read of mine and others build threads that are complete. We talk about the boots we bought, the belts, kamas, etc.

Definitely gonna be adding those gloves to the shopping list then, and Ill be looking into the silk velvet, It does indeed look really good from what I see with shiny armor. :shadow:
Appreciate the clarification!

Interesting, what exactly do you mean by knife cut to correct the angle?
also thanks I'll definitely check them out!
on the subject of approvals what exactly is a GML, I see and hear the term thrown around a bunch but I cant seem to figure out how to identify who that would be for my local garrison, or what it is they do exactly.

edit: I contacted rwa a few days ago about maybe putting in an order and so far I've had no response, anyone know the typical wait times?

CRL on the left. My WTF kit on the right. You can see how the CRL is angled shorter toward the back of the shin. A simple cut at the yellow line would fix this.

I did not pick this up, but really the Detachment Leader who has been approving these kits should not have approved it. We have a new detachment leader now, so he may follow the CRL closer for Royal Guards! Your GML approved Shadow guards so they may or may not pick it up.

A GML is 'Garrison Membership Liaison'. They approve all new costumes of your Garrison. The should be listed on your Garrison forums somewhere, or look it up here: http://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php

I see thank you for clarifying both subjects! Who can I contact to make sure something like that would be approved for crl cert 3 if i just cut at the yellow lines?
