I just received my robes from IB. Of course the length needs adjusting, but I just want to make sure the chest and shoulders look fine. Also, does someone have a pic of what the hem at the base of the robes should look like?

My suggestion when it comes to painting the helmet. After the outer robes are trimmed to the proper length (approximately 1 inch off the ground when you're wearing the entire costume) take a swatch of the outer robe to a paint shop and have them color match the paint for you in natural light. They should be able to provide the numbers pan tone or the like and from there you should be able to have one or two custom cans of custom paint put together at an auto body shop. I had no idea until recently that an auto body shop can actually have a custom "rattle can" of paint made for you. Once the helmet is painted to match you will need to pay very close attention to "WHERE" you are taking your pictures. The velvet looks completely different indoors vs outside in natural light. So you need to paint your helmet accordingly. If it matches up under the sun then it is a good bet that under convention lights it will look a shade or two off. Our velvet outer robes are such a nightmare to get right but we look so very good when it's all put together.
