Okay, I have got to get something changed on my helmet.
Water is literally running out of it and I can't see for spit.
What kind of Mesh should I buy, where can I get it and how can I attach it?

Re: Found a few ref shots of ROTS Guard.
No problem magus. You're absolutely right, at least about the helmet being trimmed down. For CRL purposes, this has not been enforced, for one simple reason. Our helmets are friggin hard to come by as it is. So while a normal helmet may not "technically" be screen accurate, this has fallen...

Re: Changeable visors?
I'm still pretty happy with my velcro, but I'm curious about exactly how you plan to attach the magnets. I wanted something that wouldn't be permanent (epoxy) and would be cheap/replaceable.

Re: Helmet storage/protection
I wrapped mine in packing foam making a sort of fitted exterior padding and haven't had a problem traveling with that in my tote.

Alternative to painting your pike
Hey guys, As some of you know I've had a deuce of a time trying to get my forcepike to be painted and stay painted, after a troop or two I've been having to sand it down and repaint because the stuff I'm using smudges. Well I've got an alternative option for anyone with similar problems. Rub n Buff....

Re: unfinished
I used Krylon cherry red gloss finish. Clear coating is good, but I have a tendency to hit my helmet with my forcepike and get some minor paint transfer every troop. Also, you want FINE sand paper once you start painting. I sanded mine down starting rough and working up to about 2000 girt. However, ...

Screen visors
So when I did my build I was under the impression that screen/mesh visors weren't acceptable in terms of cannon. But I've seen a number of these at troops now. Before I invest in something that would let the helmet breathe I'd like to confirm this status as putting a fan in my DP is gonna be annoying.

Re: Custome Red Suede BOOTS
These look really nice. You would probably want to get black soles and a red zipper if possible, once that's done you pretty much have the old Silhouettes boots that several of us troop with. I think they'd work but you may wanna check with LT or some of the other officers still.

Re: Helmet space
As LT noticed at FDIII I'm having some issues with my helmet crushing the velvet a bit underneath because of riding on my chest more than it does on others. I'm still working out the best way to fix that issue but it's something that you might want to know to look for beforehand.
