Re: Andy's Build Thread

Tightened up the sleeves a good bit. Any more and I'll be like Randy from a Christmas story, "I can't put my arms down!" This is only going to help so much, though. Every time you bend your elbows they bunch right back up. Just a quick tip, might want to think about adding thumb loops to ...

Re: MY ROTJ fail

i use 2 small dc fans in my Rubies with the powerbank on my belt, paired with a cooling vest (with icepack) My setup is similar, two fans in my Rubies, but I have the powerbank in the bucket as well. I also have a cheap ice/gel pack vest, which does not last very long for me (maybe about 30 minutes...

Re: DarthVoltron's ROTS Guard WIP

Does it make a seal around the bottom of your bucket such that you dont get any ventilation from the bottom? Ive heard that's a problem with that kind of setup. Yes, ventilation out the bottom is pretty much gone with this setup, but I have fans in the bucket itself and there is a slight separation...

Re: DarthVoltron's ROTS Guard WIP

I did something similar, but built kind of a shoulder pad system, using foam (the front and top), upholstery foam (the back) and women's shoulder pads (top, sides). I covered everything in duct tape to make it easier to slide on the outer robes. I also added a magnet to the front that is supposed to...

Re: DarthVoltron's ROTS Guard WIP

Not a scam. I got mine (RotJ) from them last year. They were gone for a while, but came back. I was on one their first runs back...

Re: Received IB robes today

Pretty close. I mean, you can look at screen shots of the movie or even other members here to get an idea of how close. The lighting will make a difference as well, since like you said, they're 2 different materials... Worst case scenario, you can always repaint. I don't know much about the Korbanth...

Re: Received IB robes today

Awesome! Just remember, you'll still need to hem both the robes (they come long)!

I have the Rubie's helmet, which is nice, but heavy. There are a few that do ABS buckets that are lighter, but I haven't seen any in person myself, so can't say how good they look... Good luck!

Yes. What I wrote is exactly how mine were made from them.

Re: Received IB robes today

Yes, the inner lining of the outer robe is the same color as the inner robes (a wine color). The outer part is red. They are two separate fabrics/pieces that come sewed together at the neck hole. Everything is the wine color (inner robe, sash, belt, gloves, etc) *except* the outer robe and boots, wh...

Re: Received IB robes today

You'll want some vertical folds in the front (it's not flat in front), and while the IB robes do have a lot of material (yes, mine came that was as well), a) you'll have the get in hemmed anyway and b) it takes a little bit of trial and error, but eventually you'll get the correct laying of the fold...
