I'm either being creative or just plain darned cheap, as the shin guards cost only 5 bucks a pair and the cases were just lying around in the bathroom cupboard.

All right, here's a first approach at my vambraces using the materials I mentioned: soccer shin guards, toothbrush cases and rubber car mats.

Looks pretty good. :) To be honest, in their natural fibre-glass color, it's hard to make out any real details, like symetry, etc. Seems good though. Yes, I agree. I'll post more pics as soon as they're properly sanded and painted. As for Marshall's pic, that rubber breastplate looks great! Good id...
