Yes wet and dry sandpaper is very necessary, the design of these helmets can really exaggerate ANY flaws in the preparation and finish.
I didn't even know there was such a thing as 4000 and 5000 grit sandpaper until now
Thanks guys, I will go with that then, a FP it is! Yes Bdgr I know what you mean, I spent quite a while sanding the very slight seam line out and tidying the edges. My brother is a great sprayer and complained at my terrible preparation work :geez: He made a really good job, the finish is like glass...
Ok I bought a RG helmet recently and repainted it and lacquered it, the finish is really nice now. Can anyone identify it, the guy couldn't remember who he bought it from.
