Re: Would these work for boots and gloves?
According to the CRL, they should be ok, but I'm sure someone with a bit more experience would know better than me.

Re: Bucket paint.
I was wondering about bucket paint. I was interested in painting my DP with a semi metallic, is this allowed? Nothing extreme, but just a little different. I guess I am simply asking if I would be allowed to use a paint I choose as long as it matches the robes for a ROTJ RG?

Re: Jawa's Force Pike
I used Tamiya Color Chrome Silver X-11 Acrylic paint. (I hate Enamel paint) The clear coat was a acrylic high gloss varnish. ANY varnish or clear coat on rub 'n buff (that I know of) will ruin the shiny coating. Mine is still kind of dull, but I think is it much better than having my $150 outer robe...

Jawa's Force Pike
I finished my first Force Pike today. Started off using Rub n' Buff but it would not stop rubbing off even after a day and a half of buffing. So I painted it with metallic paint and gave it a clear coat. It is all one piece, but sturdy. Pool Cue Sink Knob 120 O-rings Flex Funnel end Metallic Chrome ...

Re: Possible Boot?
I think the 501st requires suede boots for approval, so that would make your search a bit more difficult because red suede boots are a dead fashon. I found a good source for tons of boots, but nothing in a size that large. Just hunt in odd places like Building 19, or salvation army for good finds. I...

Nice, what kind of paint did you use? I am using Rub n' Buff and yours looks more metallic.

Re: Outer Robe Pattern
Darth Skel has a good pattern for the AOTC guard What is the main difference between ROTJ and AOTC guard robes? I am looking for a visual for a pattern, even if just a sketch to base a robe off of. Everyone I ask just sends me in circles...can ANYONE draw up a picture of the few parts to the outer ...

Re: Senate Commando.
I figured as much, the bucket looks amazing (I'll most likely buy one if and when you do a run) I always give big respect for people being the pioneer of a new build.Skupilkinson wrote:
No-one's done this costume yet so there's no CRL, no previous build to follow, so it's all up to the individual at this point.

Re: Charlie's Force Pike
That looks great, I was thinking of doing the same thing for mine but using something a little different for the emitter to give it that spiked look. Did you use paint or rub and buff?

Re: Senate Commando.
That helmet looks amazing. For the paint were you going to use that color or something with a more violet tone? From the reference pics they looks kind of like a blue/violet. Or is paint going to be up to the individual making the build?
