Wow - only $50 to paint it. I might have to ask around here. With 1/2 the year being winter, it's tough to find good painting days.

That's what I did. I took one of those portable battery powered air pumps (for inflatable camping mattresses) and piped the air up to my neck. I put the pump on the back of my belt and ran it up my back to the helmet where it velcro'd in place. The pump is kind of heavy, but it kept me from fogging ...

Or you can fold them (inside) at the seem, so they don't show. Or cut that top part off.
