I thought the robe for the praetorians in The Last Jedi was boiled wool? I have quite a few screenshots from 2018 when Lucasfilm brought a few of the guards to put on display at Awesome Con in Washington DC. It's not cavalry twill.

Hi Everyone, I wanted to let you know that it looks like in January, issue 2 of Star Wars Crimson Reign will be featuring a new look to the Return of the Jedi Style Royal Guards with what looks to be armor underneath their robes.

Looking at the pictures it also looks like the material around the neck looks similar to like what turtlenecks are made out of and could be a bit more maroon in color.
