Re: Geo's RotJ RG W.I.P.

I got to the seamstress before the ribbon went on. It turns out that we'll have a visiting Emperor soon so it makes more sense to leave the ribbon off for now. He's not dead yet. :)

Re: Geo's RotJ RG W.I.P.

Admittedly, I and a couple of squad mates are having the ribbon sewn on to our cloaks. Taking the description literally, we're using 30mm wide ribbon.

Re: Geo's RotJ RG W.I.P.

It is small to see (1.2 inches). It's accurate, though, which is what I aim for. Unless anyone wants to play with the "few centimeters" quote and interpret it is as a rough estimate and make it larger. I'm only interpreting the novel quote in the strictest and most literal sense. Loor said...

Re: Geo's RotJ RG W.I.P.

Fair enough. :) The comment was primarily aimed at our American friends.

The point, though, is that the ribbon is only three centimeters wide. Kirtan Loor described the guards as appearing to float a few centimeters off the ground. That gives us a pretty exact ribbon measurement.

Re: Geo's RotJ RG W.I.P.

The black ribbon is definitely not in the right place... it should be at the very bottom of the robe to match the literary reference and should probably be 2"-3" wide. The description says " a few centimeters off the ground ." That's 30 millimeters (3 centimeters [1 1/5 inches])...

Re: The first of three Royal Guards in Western Australia

Yep. I noticed the length when I put it on for these photos. It's a hair long. A simple hemming will sort it out.

The first of three Royal Guards in Western Australia

There are three members in my squad working on ROTJ Royal Guards. Out of the three of us, I am the furthest along. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h161/Nassik/SMH_1044_zps7287d711.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h161/Nassik/SMH_1045_zps0671a575.jpg I'm wearing a Don Post helmet (fully modded...

Red mirror tint

I've seen a number of royal guards with the red mirror tint to their lenses. However, I see no reference to it in the CRLs.

Are we allowed to use the tint in our helmets? Even for submission photos?

I and a couple of squad mates are following the ROTJ royal guard build.

Re: ROTJ DP helmet

It looks to be a simple modification. Once I get a new visor I'll have at it.
