Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

Hi there!

Yes, I put shoulder pads in. Just lightweight ones, but enough to nicely smooth out the shoulders.

I know its been a while, I want to know, did you use padding on the shoulders?

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

is this the ebay listing you speak of? http://www.ebay.com/itm/251090975250?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2648#ht_500wt_1202 That would be them. They say they can adjust the length, but they'd need to customise more than that to have it looking proper. Fabric is wrong, in any ca...

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

Ember, awesome job and looks fantastic. I have a couple of questions, How much velvet was used? How long did it take? is there a pattern you used? I'm in a bit of a sticky situation over here in the UK as nobody seems to make these robes and when I have asked they reckon it will cost about £600, I...

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

Thanks everyone :) Very nicely done. The only critique I have would be that the middle part of the belt shouldn't be crimson red velvet but rather the same fabric as the rest of the belt... I went by the CRL, using the images as guides for how everything should look. The image that represents the be...

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

It is with great pleasure I can announce the robes have been sold to a very happy client :) While I aimed for screen-accuracy on the outer robe, I wanted something comfy underneath that would be easy to move around in while still meeting the standards. The neck seal was a last-minute addition, but I...

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

I'm trying to make them as accurate as possible :)
Thanks for those images, they show how much of the sleeve is eased into the shoulders, which is something I've been wondering about.

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

Progress! Underrobe is virtually done, minus handstitching of snaps on cuffs and collar. I'm a bit unsure about the lower half though, a bit concerned that the underrobe may be too restrictive in terms of leg movement. I've put small splits up either side of the bottom hem to help make walking easie...

Re: Ember's Ep3 Robes

Well I'm doing 2 full sets of robes now! Work has started on the underrobes, and today I picked up the velvet outer robe fabric. 24 yards of red triple velvet... so pretty... :P No photos yet, but I've started patterning and cutting out the underrobes. The underrobes will have cuffed sleeves, and a ...

Re: Prequel ROTS CRL

Thanks Andrew.

After discussion with the person I'm making the robes for, we're going for long under-tunic with slit up the centre-front, and baggy pants which will be tucked into boots.

Re: Prequel ROTS CRL

Hello again! :) Another spot of confusion, nothing major, but it would put my mind at ease if someone can clear it up. I've gone through ROTS screencapping some shots with the Royal Guards. It's not the best quality DVD, but from what I can make, the Guards definitely are wearing pants, but it doesn...
